Jeff was born in Grimsby and began his creative journey after leaving school at 16 exploring different roles of work in local industry before committing to formal study. He trained at Grimsby School of Art, then continued at the Chelsea School of Art (1979–1982, as Jeff Hudson*).
Following his graduation, Jeff lived in Dublin for two years before returning to London, where he found creative work in pop promos commercials and photography shoots. His professional work has included art direction and production design for film and television, disciplines that sharpened his eye for atmosphere, narrative, and visual composition.
Alongside this, Jeff has sustained a dedicated interest in the fine arts. His paintings and mixed-media works reflect a dialogue between lived experience and imagination, often drawing on themes of transformation, memory, and the intersection of technology and human perception. His approach combines intuition with a thoughtful process, resulting in work that invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and engage with layers of meaning.
